About us

Started by the Grand Sanaga diaspora, for the communities back home.

Ndap I Maten was founded in 2017 by members of the Grand Sanaga diaspora living in Arizona, together with their friends. Anyone who shares our vision is welcome to join us, wherever they come from and wherever they live.

Our mission

A more prosperous and equitable Grand Sanaga, built through education, clean water, preventive health care and local economic projects.

We believe that access to good education improves personal and civic well-being, reduces poverty and opens the door to employment.

Where we work

The Grand Sanaga region

Grand Sanaga covers three divisions of Cameroon. Many of its communities still lack basic infrastructure: schools, health care, drinking water, energy and access roads.

Our roots

Mbog Liaa, the people of the pierced stone

The Bassa are a Bantu people of about 250,000 in Cameroon, living mainly in the rural communities of the Centre and Littoral regions.

Ngog Lituba, a great rock formation in Nyong-et-Kellé, is seen as the cradle of the Bassa. Tradition says the Bassa took shelter inside it to escape extermination, which is why they call themselves Mbog Liaa, the people of the pierced stone.
